Post date: Nov 03, 2012 5:0:42 PM

Join us for our November 17, 2012 Evening Star Party!

Learn the late autumn constellations, and catch the slim waxing crescent Moon. View celestial objects such as star clusters (M15, M13, the Double Cluster), the Andromeda Galaxy, or nebulas such as the Ring Nebula and the Dumbbell Nebula through telescopes on our south lawn, operated by our volunteer astronomers.Jupiter and its four moons will arrive fashionably late to the party but give you a fascinating show. We'll also be watching for Leonid meteors, which peak this weekend. (Most prominently after midnight in the early morning hours on Saturday.) Indoor activities will include a presentation in the library and family activities. This star party will happen whether the skies are clear or cloudy. $5/person or $15/family. All children must be in the company of an adult. Dress warmly -- hats, mittens, scarves, winter coats and sturdy shoes! Bring your own binoculars, digital cameras on a tripod, or telescopes if you wish. Click here for more details and registration.
